Name: Seto Kaiba
Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters
Canon point: Dark Side of Dimensions, post-final battle vs. Aigami
Age: 18
Canon history: Here!
Personality:
Proud: Seto Kaiba's fatal flaw is his pride, better termed arrogance by most who know him. He often makes bold claims about his infinitely superior skills in the business world, in engineering, and in games and duels. Unfortunately for his opponents, he can usually back those claims up with successes, with the exception of duels against Yugi Mutou. Kaiba is quick to anger when his abilities in any of his chosen fields are challenged by a worthy opponent, but he turns to snide sarcasm and laughter when dealing with people he considers 'beneath' him. That category includes almost everyone.
Defensive: Kaiba has fought hard for everything he has: his company, his dueling rank, and the love and safety of his little brother. He hates to lose, and especially hates to lose the things he cares for (and the people he cares for, despite his ability to count them on one hand). He will go to extraordinary measures to protect what's his, including illegal computer hacking, fighting gun-wielding guards with trading cards, and even teaming up with hated enemies. Caring for anything or anyone that deeply is a weakness he can hardly afford, so when he does care, he puts his all into it. He can't allow that weakness to be used against him.
Skeptical: Kaiba's sharp intellect and general confidence in his worldview have led him to take a dim view of magic. Unfortunately, he's been exposed to inconsistent, unknowable, and creepy ancient magic for so many adventures that he's exhausted all scientific explanations and is no longer able to completely deny its existence. He'll tolerate it with lots of huffing (and careful work, because he'll never allow himself to be seen as bad at something.
Given that he's often surrounded by manipulative businessmen, alleged family members, and others with bad intentions, he's also skeptical of most people. It's simply too difficult to believe that anyone could be kind without an ulterior motive. To him, there's always an angle, and if he can't find it...well, after all the ugliness he's seen from humanity, it's still too difficult to trust.
Honor-bound: Another aspect of Kaiba's general belief in his superiority to most people is that he holds tightly to his personal honor code. He saves the lives of his hated rivals more than once, even if letting them fall would benefit him in the short term. He stands up to bullies in the dueling world, despite sometimes being labeled as a bully himself. He's often brash and rude, but never unfair...at least, not to those who haven't yet done something to deserve it. As such, he also has a base level of respect for other honorable people, even if overt displays of kindness draw his scorn.
Ambitious: Since childhood, Kaiba has had a powerful imagination. He developed the skills to make his dreams a reality, from a theme park for underprivileged children to entire dungeons for dangerous dueling to holographic technology that could create captivating imagery the world has never seen. He fully believes that no goal is out of his reach if given enough time and resources, and he will not allow minor setbacks like the laws of physics to hold him back from dimension-jumping. It seems he really did start believing in magic to a point, or at least his ability to create his own miracles.
Always Keep In Mind: Seto Kaiba is not a nice person (though he occasionally makes an exception for orphaned children), but he's not quite evil either. His father's greed and abuse pushed him to that extreme, but a certain pharaoh's Mind Crush shocked his mind and allowed him to wake from the path of destruction. He's been picking the pieces up ever since, and through endless exposure to his rivals and their determination, he's even gained some grudging respect for them. His mind can change, if slowly, but he'll deny that his feelings have changed for quite a while afterward.

Questions: Write an IC answer to the following questions:
What do you want to study at Diatu Magicademy?
It's not about what I want, but what I need to control the problem your world has inflicted on me. But if you're asking which branch of magic I'm likely to find most tolerable, Modification seems to be the most logic-based.
If you knew you could go back to the moment you left, would you leave immediately or continue your studies for a while?
I would study as long as necessary to ensure that this curse won't kill me, then depart. I have a company to run, and even if I were to leap backwards in time, I would still be growing older, and therefore losing time in my world.
If your enemy was at Diatu Magicademy, how would you react?
That would depend on which enemy we're talking about. Were it my rival on the dueling circuit, I would ensure that I stay a step ahead of them. If they were a business cheat, I would keep my distance and make it clear that their interference isn't welcome in this school.
When is it acceptable to resolve a dispute by force?
When lives are immediately threatened. Most conflicts can be solved through proper persuasion. You just have to convince your opponent that what you have happens to be what they want, or utterly humiliate them if that doesn't work.
What should the supreme goal of any wizard be?
The same as anyone else's: to live their lives and use their abilities to their fullest potential. For 'the greater good', if they're feeling generous.
Ideally, in my opinion, they'd do it without creating chaos in the lives of the non-magical. Or those who choose to exclude magic from their lives.
